PetaPixel is reporting that a lab claims that film from Amazon may be improperly stored. After seeing issues with film from Amazon sent for processing by customers, the lab looked to the source. In a sample purchased and processed by Coastal Film Lab, possible heat damage to fresh colour print film from Amazon may have occurred. The operator claims that the results from film "developed in fresh, control strip tested C41 chemistry came out severely fogged with incorrect base color and poor tonality."
The lab is imploring customers to buy film from reputable photographic dealers and, of course, local camera stores. Support local, particularly if your camera retailer offers quality services and properly stored, quality film.
